Definitely the variety of work, the satisfaction of looking at what you have created, watching apprentices grow into quality tradesmen & meeting new clients with some becoming lifelong friends.
I have had many great memories when it comes to work memories, parties, race days, golf days etc, but my biggest stand out memory was getting my first call to build my first home for my first ever client as Steve Ryan Builder. I’ve been building for 26 years & been Steve Ryan Builder for the past 17 of them.
I enjoy doing admin & communicating with all people in our line of work. Taking on this role it also lightens the workload for my husband Steve. This role in the business also keeps Steve & I on the same page knowing what’s going on within our business.
Not just the obvious lol, being able to get many jobs accomplished around the home, I love that he can create clients forever homes, something they are proud of & knowing that my husband did that.
Xero for accounting, along with receipt bank. Love our BuilderTrend program that keeps all our employees, subs & clients in the loop. And OneDrive where Steve & I keep all documents, which are available for either of us to quickly access on any device.
As a high school student, I really loved woodwork as a subject so when Steve & Bec gave me the opportunity to continue my apprenticeship with them I jumped at it whole heartedly.
Seeing the satisfaction of the customer when we progress through the stages & the house really starts to take shape would have to be pretty high up there.
My goals are to complete my apprenticeship & continue on with study & get my builders licence. Eventually I would like to build my own home with Steve & Bec.
